I used to copy/paste scripts from sites a long time ago for cheap webpage effects that used JavaScript, but other than slightly modifying those, I have no experience with Java.
I am planning to program a game eventually, and heard from a friend that RuneScape was done entirely in Java. Is this true?
Either way, could someone give me a quick run down of Java’s importance? I’ve heard from so many different sources on the subject programming so many different things about what new languages are going to make old ones obsolete that I don’t know what to think anymore.
