In case you didn’t know, memberships for www.audioscrobbler.com opened back up today. I encourage you all to sign up before they close again.
I also made a group for kirupa members. i’ve been begging for a music forum here for a while, but kirupa said those posts fit well in random. well, for those who are really into music, we can communicate through the group on audioscrobbler.
For those of you who don’t know, audioscrobbler is a site that uses a plugin on your music player of choice to moniter your musical tastes. it’s also a HUGE online community that is growing too. it’s probably the second coolest online community i’ve ever seen next to kirupaforum here. I highly encourage all of you to check it out.
just a reminder: if you sign up at audioscrobbler, PM me on here (preferably) or on audioscrobbler to get membership to the kirupa user group. I didn’t want to make it open or people who weren’t members of the forum here might gain access (unless… do you think I should just make it open?).
edit.i: i just made it open so we didn’t have to go through the hassle of pming me to gain membership to the group. also, look for it under “General.” It’s simply called “kirupa” and should only have like 1 member (me).
edit.ii: it’s under the “websites” catagory now, not the “general” catagory.
seems like a cool idea, but I like my method where it randomly picks a song from my entire collection randomly when I get to the end, but I’ll check it out and consider…

edit.ii: hey ahmed, how do you get the plug-ins to work? I downloaded the one for iTunes, installed it, and it worked while in iTunes, but nothing has shown up on audiosrobbler. everytime i’m in iTunes and click on “Turn visual effects on / off” i get a message on the audioscrobbler screen that says “error sending data.” I have a feeling it has to do with my dial up…
