I have been out of the gaming loop for some time now. After spending entirely too much time playing World of Warcraft, giving that up [whisper]after getting full tier two and my drops out of AQ40[/whisper] and then having my motherboard die, I don’t really know what the latest and greatest games are these days.
I always see F.E.A.R. mentioned in benchmarks, and Half Life 2 seems to be having more episodes come out (I still don’t have HL2, I guess I should get it) and I hear good things about Battlefield 2, but those were even all 2005 games. Like I said, I’m behind.
So, in your opinion, what is the latest, greatest PC game that is on the market right now? It doesn’t have to have been released in 2006, but it should be current. I’m going to buy a new game (or three) to test out my new Core 2 Duo system on, after the dust has settled and we learn what Kirupians think the best game on the market is.
