Wait, “glow-up” is doing a lot of work here — if it still weighs a ton and lives on the counter forever, the only upgrade I care about is whether the bowl/attachments are less annoying to clean. WIRED always makes these sound like a revolution when it’s usually one nicer knob and a new color.
The only thing that felt like a real upgrade for me was swapping to the stainless bowl + dishwasher-safe attachments, because the old coated ones got gross fast.
The coated attachments always end up with that weird dull film for me too, even when I baby them.

Look — that dull film is why I stopped babying the coated attachments and just went stainless where I could. The coated stuff seems to age in dog years no matter what you do, and it always looks vaguely gross even when it’s “clean.”
