Laptop Advice

I’m amazed no-one has mentioned Asus.

They are just about the best bang for buck, with better build quality etc than Acer.

Go here for some reviews, info etc http://www.notebookreview.com/

I say Asus or Toshiba are your best bets.

Well, I’d agree. Except for the fact that Asus quality is going downhill somewhat now that they’re trying to lower prices and compete in the consumer field. But it still should be fine for his/her uses. I’d suggest something like the F8 series since its equally small and powerful. Although, the battery life still sucks.

what is the battery life of Toshiba ?

ff123, if you want battery life the M1330 has 5.5-6 with normal use.

The Asus and the Toshiba probably have around 2-3 hours of life.

and Hp and Dell?

Probably more like 3-4 to maybe 5 hours. Look up some reviews for some of the models (like the dell m1330) on google. That’ll help you pick as well.

I saw one Dell laptop it was inspiron it looks beautiful but it was bit expense then Toshiba… If i go for Used… will it better…?

I wouldn’t recommend used unless it has a good warranty. Laptops are things usually used for several years, it’s best to buy them new or with a very good warranty.

Dell usually has some sort of coupon that can help you lower the price…I don’t think they have coupons as great as they did before, but they’re still around.

Just google “Dell home coupons” or something like that, or look on Slickdeals and Fatwallet for coupons

If you sign up for their newsletter, they’ll send you coupons whenever they come out. Which is like once a week.

i think i should go for Toshiba 1.6 Dual Core… any suggestions?

Uh, 1.6 Dual Core? Not even Core 2 Duo? Jeez, your going to need better than that.

ff123 at least buy recent tech man or your throwing away your money. With laptops you can’t simply replace it when you get more money.

[whisper]nice thing about laptops i don’t have the tendency to replace the graphics card every few months[/whisper]

what is the main difference between Dual Core and Core 2 Duo? and Dual Core does not have resell value now?

I advise you to buy… Dell leaptop… to get better results…

Speed. My laptops a year old now and it even has Core 2 Duo. When it comes to a brand the higher the number the better.

Problem there is with the AMD cpus, they really suck compared to the Intel Core 2 Duos, especially at that price.

I like them. :crying:
