Laptops

of course. I will immediately send my laptop back if it has dead pixels right in middle.

I guess I could live with a black pixle somewhere in the edge of the display, else it’s crappy. especially if it’s a 2000€ notebook.

i think the Laptops from Voodoo are killer x2, i’m actually gonna get a HeXx from them, that thing is so much ownage, 256mb Gforce Fx, 1000mb of Ram, and a atholon 64 3xxx +oc

wow 3+ hours of battery time :sure:

an athlon 64 is far away from ideal for a notebook.

Someone said something about the Vaio A series. My sister has one and it is pretty nice. The screen is excellent, and it seems pretty powerful in most areas.

Pentium M processors aren’t very fast though.

I don’t like sony computer’s very much, they are high priced, and I haven’t seen very good reviews of the service

but if it works for you it may work

Pentium M processors aren’t very fast though.

from chip (german computer mag):
the pentium-M (at least the 755 (2ghz centrino dothan)) is now on the same level of performance as a pentium-4-processor for desktops

yeah, don’t really like sony too. their stuff only matches other sony stuff (i.e.: headset will only go with sony walkman) accessories are expensive, and I’ve heard more complaints about sony laptops than about other top manufactorers (although I guess that’s moaning on a very high level)

Yeah - The Pentium M’s are pretty fast. They may have a lower number/clockspeed associated with them, but they are very efficient - hence them using less power and producing less heat

well, i just bought a new lappy, an LG LS50-5. anyways, its a Centrino, Pentium M 1.6GHz, and its pretty fast (apparently, a 1.6 M is equal to a 3.2GHz P4). I would strongly reccommend AGAINST getting a desktop CPU in a laptop (eg. Celeron, P4). They run hot, and absolutely kill the battery. A Celeron 2.8 running on an 8-cell battery with realistic usage will last no more than 1 hour. My Pentium M 1.6 running on a 6-cell battery lasts 3.5-4 hours while ive got MSN, iTunes, Photoshop and a host of other stuff runnning… I think laptops need mobile processors… :stuck_out_tongue:
oh, and the centrino’s come with WiFi as standard.

Although i bought from a local retail outlet, in retrospect, i should have bought online from Dell. they seem to be much cheaper.

…actually, come to think of it, i could have bought a nice 12" G4 iBook with all the extras for less than what i spent on my current lappy… :frowning:

oh well…

oh, btw:

I didn’t even know that lg made computers :stuck_out_tongue:

wow it’s hard to type when one hand is alseep… you have to type everything about three times…
