Hi
I want to teach myself AS and was just wondering if anyone can suggest a logical place to start and then progress to. I am not really in a financial enough position to go buying books.
I know all the basic stuff.
Any pointers would be great
Erm, maybe do some tutorials (really good resource at this place called Kirupa.com), read the Actionscript dictionary and the examples that come WITH flash.
then…
think of something you wish to create…try to complete as much as you can by yourself, then if you get stuck need assistance, post a question here.

Although it seems i’m being sarcastically ignorant, that is the answer most people here will give you because it is true and it is a good place to start.

I have been told quite clearly what to do by 2 people so I shall knuckle down and do it.
I do understand all that the flash tutorials have to offer but I just look at the action script reference and just think!!! where to start…thats all. I spose any place is as good as any other.
I was just hoping there might be some logical progression in learning that someone experienced might be able to point me too.

I second that. I went through flash’s own tutorials at least 6
times before i grasped the basic concepts. it’s human nature to
accept the easiest path for things, but sometimes the hard way is
the best way.
