Life on other planets outside of our solar system?

[side note]

hahaha the first time I read that I thought you said “go blind” and then gave him a link to the explanation of light. I now see that his handle is blindlizard.

I just thought that was hillarious, maybe it’s just me…

[/side note]

There are alot of things we don’t understand about light. It’s still open for debate about what makes it the ultimate speed in the universe

Part of it is because relativity shows that a lot of the energy and such travel at the speed of light, and as you approach the speed of light, you get a lot of variations between time, position, etc. that are not explained in Newton.

Here is a good read I just browsed a few mins ago: http://www.nature.com/nature/links/031016/031016-5.html (select Full Text for more info)

:ub:

Ah well, full text requires you to have a subscription.

It will have to wait a week till I go back to uni and then I will have access to it.

Are you sure? I was able to access the full version without a subscription: http://www.nature.com/cgi-taf/DynaPage.taf?file=/nature/journal/v425/n6959/full/nature02016_fs.html :eye:

That page brings up a login page with this information on it.

Full text articles are available through one of three options:

a subscription associated with a personal account
an individual article purchase
a site license

$18.00 to read it…

If your on campus at MIT Nature may have it set up so that anyone from that IP range has access.

Other than that I don’t know…….

Oh - maybe :frowning:
