Linux from a floppy disk?

Is it possible to make an install floppy for ubuntu? If it is how do I make one? I’m asking for a friend who doesn’t have a cd-drive atm and he wants to try ubuntu on his machine…

Cant you figure this out yourself.
Ubuntu takes entire disc 700mb and a floppy is 1.44mb lol.

Just tell him to download the ISO for it and mount it on a fake drive with Alcohol 120% or with Nero.

ummm…how is he going to install it if it’s mounted on a fake drive that exists on a windows partition?

wow? that big :smiley: I’ve managed to devide a setup on like 12 floppys, but I was like 10 then and my brother helped me, so I don’t remember :smiley: I’ll check out that netboot thing! Thanks!
