Logo check cookie maker

Let me know what ya think.

Profile
Middle aged couple (conservative), Makes homemade cookies from well…home :). Wants a simple logo to use on their packaging and stationary. These cookies are relatively famous in this area. They just cut a deal with a supermarket. Main criteria was, simple (3-4 color), distinct, scalable (if they branch out the logo can be used for other products) and interchangeable. While I interviewed the client I noticed she was very particular about her favorite oven mit. So I incorporated it.

As a side not I will be designing their packaging as well when the time comes.

simplistik if you see this post this is the vector cookie I was talking about that was taking me forever

I love the bottom version in sample 1 looks very good nice job :thumb:

the top one in sample 2 reminds me directly of Famous Amos’ cookie logo…

The others, I feel are a bit too “homey”…

What can I say, I don’t like any of them…

I’m really burned out on the pot holder/oven mitt thing (no thanks to Arby’s on that one)…

I also don’t like the colors… too much of a 70’s feel for me. Maybe that is what you are going for.

These are very subjective comments BTW… take them with a grain of salt…

hey thanks guys.

Yeah they are trying for the semi old-fashioned but not like the 1920’s feel. The homey feeling you get I guess is good, lol they make their cookies at home…

Hey it does not look like famous amos…:bad:…lol. Just went to their site, but I guess it is the gradients

Out of the ones posted I would go with #2 on Page 1. I like #1 on Page 2, but that is only because I feel like I’ve seen it before.

Nice Work Though.

I have a bunch of 1950-1960’s cookbooks, should you wish to “evaluate” the graphics…

some of them are outright classic.

[edit]I said reminded me of, not looks like…can be worse in logo designs, than a direct copy[/edit]

yeah Ethan, 1 on page 2 is what I like to call my safe card when I submit 1st sample to a client. I call it safe because it is usually the first vision I see when I think of the company. I usually throw a wild card in too, but not this time.

I may take you up on that rev. These are the first samples. The first samples usually set the stage for the rest as it spurs the clients visions. It would be nice to look at those.

Thx
Man

That cookie is vector!?!?!?!? Holy crap dude that’s awesome dude!

you know how to get a hold of me…

aaight rev

I forgot to mention the colors may be a lil bizarre on screen because I am using CYMK. Sorry bout dat.

I was going to sit here and bask in the glorious vector cookie. But I am afraid it is not all my doing. I was doing one by hand that was taking hours. Then I remembered I had streamline…lol. Short story I Streamlined it, then altered the paths and colors to fit my needs. But my hand made cookie was doing well…lol

DDD, i think they’re all super cute! and with homemade cookies, i’m guessing that’s a good impression to get  my favorite was the 2nd one in sample 1, i thought the idea of the oven mitt hanging off the P was a good one. where can i get these cookies? lol

Thanks riderchic.
Right now you are on the wrong coast. Pretty much will only be available in california. Berkeley and Stockton to be exact.

Why does everything have to be in california these days?

I like the mit logo, but only when it is on the right side.

The vector cookie looks delicious in more ways than one.

DDD… that is a complete rip off another logo! I can’t believe you’d stoop that low!

Yea… so now that the funny is over, seriously. I like the cookie one but I would modify the banner thing to look more like a flagged ribon to give it a more classical look. Right now it look sorta generic. Hit me up later when I get home I have a few ribon templates if you need one.

I sure will…I could use some ribbon templates. I hate making those. I’ll hit you up lata man.
