Actually, I thought for a moment that “Shooters” meant some kind of swing term for party goers. I agree that the logo looks great as a logo for something else. It doesn’t match the subject material. If it’s an almanac for shooters, then absolutely, a bullet hole through a page and potentially replace the “’” apostrophe with a little bullet illustration would do it wonders. Credibility is earned with good content, convey that to your client. Identifying the site in a sea of almanacs and wiki’s is entirely up to your skills in defining a memorable brand. I will forget an open book logo, regardless of how perfect it is. I will not forget a logo with a bullet hole and flying bullet. Sometimes a touch of humour is absolutely necessary to give a site just the right touch.
