So I got home from work and my computer being the one with all the hardware is the most used in the house. So when I turned on my computer, pow! My antivirus detects something, and my desktop background changes to a fake alert. The browser starts continously opening and going to random sites. So someone went to a site on my computer while I was gone that they shouldn’t have.
So anyways, finally after a couple hours I managed to find it by scanning with 2 antivirus software and ad-aware. Turns out it’s a trojan called Trojan.Fakeavalert. So since I can’t get on the internet on that computer without it going crazy I searched on my laptop to find a way of removing it. I followed the steps that the windows site said to do in order to remove it but to no avail. Finally I loaded my computer into safe mode, which allowed me to move the file. So I know what file it is, and I moved it to the desktop into a folder. But no matter what I do I cant delete it. And the task manager wont open so I can end it’s process to delete it. So atm I am at a loss about what to do in order to remove this nasty little bugger. Worse comes to worse I can destructive format. But I was hoping to get around that. Anyone have any ideas?
