Lotr: Rotk

abbreviations are fun! Well folks, it comes out today on DVD!

I watched it Sunday night

this thread was mostly for hifi :stuck_out_tongue: I think she is the one that last week I was trying impress with my awesome ability to get movies early heh. Hope she sees it.

Oh my! A lot has happened here since I went to sleep and returned! Thought this thread would get buried awayā€¦
anyway, I have a few cents to throw atcha. I guess I agree that itā€™s stupid when a movie or product gets hyped so people think they need it. While this is true of many things, I feel that the Matrix (the first one), isnā€™t necessarily guilty of this, as I think it was a very interesting movie. LOTR was done in an even better manner, because they made all three movies at once, and it was consistantly good, while matrix two and three were jsut money makers, I donā€™t believe they were ever intended to happen, which made me upset.
As for reading books, they donā€™t necessarily make a movie better, but then again, it couldnā€™t hurt. I think with movies like the lord of the rings many things are left out of the movie, for varios reasons, and, well if I were directing it, one thign I might take into consideration is that many people would have read (or will read) the books, and they can remember and fill in things not intrical to the plot or story, but that can sort of complete the experience. Short of a narrative over the entire movie you will never get everything from a movie that you can get from a book. So although when you say a movie is bad, I canā€™t really say, ā€˜well, look at the book!ā€™, I think I can sort of say, ā€˜look at bothā€™. Itā€™s a collaboration, IMO.
And, @ kirupa: yah I donā€™t know what Iā€™m going to do about buying themā€¦ I bought the first one in both theatrical and extended, then bought the second as extended as gifts for two other people, but never for myself yet, and havenā€™t bought the thrird. Iā€™m hoping that they release a three pack of all three extended, but that would be so much money! I know Iā€™m gonna look into the matrix trilogy in a pack (I like setsā€¦:sigh: )

You probably havenā€™t even seen it :sigh:ā€¦

uuuuumā€¦ as a matter of fact i did see it, cā€™mon man, ghosts (maybe you prefer ā€œthe undeadā€) attacking an army :sigh:
it just doesnā€™t fit right, itā€™s just to make the good ones win
imo, they rushed waaaaaaaaaay too much in ending the movie, i think they were all fed up and wanted the movie trilogy to be doneā€¦

ghosts attacking an army, gimme a breakā€¦

I really donā€™t understand all the ā€œhooplaā€ behind ROTK, I thought the first two were great movies, but the third one suckedā€¦majorily!!! It was waaay too **** long, time didnā€™t fly by fast enough when I was watching it. The dialogue was boring as hell, the so-called surprises were somewhat predictable (Sam taking the ring from Frodo after giant Spider stings him, Gollum dying with the ring), some parts felt rushed (although I guess I canā€™t blame that on the movie) and some parts were just too draggged on.

The only thing I really liked about the movie was the massive battle in front of the kingdom with those massive elephants, not only was it entertaining to watch, the CG was amazingā€¦but I really hated how the stupid ghosts just came out of nowhere and finished a 1/2 hour battle in a mere few seconds.

LOTR: FOTR, 9/10ā€¦hated the ending
LOTR: TT, 10/10ā€¦kept me wanting more
LOTR: ROTK, 5/10

I think Iā€™ve mentioned I didnā€™t like the LOTR first movie, but I am going to give the second one a chance. To rent, I wonā€™t be buying it.

The movie Iā€™m waiting for on DVD is Lost in Translation. Just a nice film in an amazing location with some funny moments. Iā€™ve always been a big Bill Murray fan and I didnā€™t think heā€™d top Groundhog Day until I saw this :thumb:

Lost in Translation has been out for like a couple monthsā€¦ oh wait where are youā€¦ haha maybe itā€™s not out thereā€¦ hehā€¦

Good god radioā€¦you can be cruel :*(

MWUAHAHAHAHAHA! AAAAAND I rented it before it was even released stateside! HAHA this is when I gotta say, I love my job.

So? What do you expect? Thatā€™s why they make moviesā€¦
