I will start off by saying that I am NOT a programmer or in any way an IT guy. I am a scientist and have been told by my professional IT and computer professional friends that I have an above avg computer aptitude. It is this reason i have ventured down this path.
I purchased a flash website template for my wife’s salon and I didn’t quite realize the complexity of trying to modify it. I have purchased a tutorial from learnflash.com called “building websites in CS4 Flash”, but this does not help me with adding pop-ups in the template. I have also searched this subject matter on the web for the past few days, but it seems different than what I can tell in my FLA file.
In short I would like to know if other forum members can comment on my questions and direct me on the best course of action. Keep in mind I am willing to use this as a learning project so it will help me if ever needed in the future.

The provided template was done in Flash 7 and with action script 1.0/2.0. Will this cause any problems with me trying to work with it in CS4?

I know how to edit the text content for the most part and I have been fiddling with the FLA (copy of course) to learn about Flash files. My biggest hurdle is adding Flash pop ups to links that were designed into the template to either go to an HTML page or a pop up window. Keep in mind that there are already a couple of pop ups in the template and I am sure there is a way to copy and stick them somewhere in the time line. Is this a difficult task that should just be deferred to a programmer or someone with experience in this work?
I noticed in another thread someone had a problem and it was suggested they post the coding/project so members could look at it and direct from there. Is this something I should or could do? i don’t want someone to do it for me, but maybe direct me to a site or source to where I could kind of figure out what I have to do by trial and error. Sorry for the long first post.:}
