Manga readers: bebop, kenshin, gunnm,

Spike is a god. He’s **** cool. Did I mention that the anime has some of the greatest music… in anything… EVER?! :beam:

I liked Akira, Ghost in the Shell was good. The Love Hina Manga is really good esp if you are a fan of the show. The Manga goes into a lot more depth, as it usually does.

Must see Anime… Hmmmm Thats Quite a long list for me. Anyhow…

Ah! My Goddess (OVA and Movie are both good)
Green Legend Ran (Movie)
Bubblegum Crisis 2032 (2040 is good to, but the original is way ahead of its time)
Vampire Hunter D (Both the original and the sequal were excellent)
Tenchi Muyo! (OVA, the TV series were ok, but the OVA was outstanding.)
El Hazard (OVA)
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke

That should be enough to get anyone started. If you need more suggestions I will be happy to give some.

Asphalt, I must admit I have never seen Cowboy Beebop, I have the first DVD sitting at home in the waiting to be watched pile, maybe I should move it to the top. Is it hard finding Anime over in the UK? I am just curious.

Cheers!

So what?! starts crying :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, that’s Togepi:

Um… well, I’ve ordered a few things off ebay before. It’s not common to find anime in well-known shops (perhaps big HMVs at stupidly over-priced rates :)) I… um… tend to to … cough download cough series, but obivously, if I like them, I’ll have a good, extensive search around to see if I can buy them for reasonable amounts of money

Pokemon… /gag :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers!

Look how happy he is:

Aaaaaw…

Heard a lot about this one too. Will check that out  Thanks!

I am in Chicago, USA. Ahhh that seems to be the UK version of say Sam Goody http://www.samgoody.com or Suncoast www.suncoast.com Here in the US. Its pretty much the same there the pricing is a bit high for my taste, but every once in a while you find a good deal. What region code are your DVDs?

Cheers!
-Niann

2, but a lot of the new dvd-players are region free. and most of the anime dvds you buy on ebay aren’t entirely official (made by proper companies… but… not originals if you get what I mean) so they’re normally region-free discs

I know what you mean. Have you taken a look at Noir at all? I just bought the 4th volume yesterday. The story line to this series is fantastic. Its worth taking a look at. Just ummm watch the series in order, I can’t imagine it making much sense otherwise… =)

Cheers!

Kajinku - Anime Films and Series worth watching:

Akira (Movie)
Ghost in the Shell (Movie - havent seen the series yet)
Cowboy Bebop (Series)
Cowboy Bebop the Movie
Hellsing (Series)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Series)
Naruto (Series - my fave anime at the moment)
Scryed (Series - another fave atm)
Princess Mononoke (Absolutely STUNNING movie)
Ninja Scroll (Movie)
The Guyver (Series)
Spirited Away (Movie)
Perfect Blue (Movie - really good!)
Street Fighter Alpha (Movie - good if you like fights etc)
Blood: The Last Vampire (Movie)
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (Movie)
Trigun (Series)
Wings of Honnaemise (Movie)
Golgo 13: The Professional (Movie)

ps. Niann - yes. I’ve seen the first few eps of Noir - good stuff… tad confusing at the start… and YES! Move cowboy bebop to the top… in fact… put it in your dvd drive now!

Blood: TLV was really good. Although I thought the ending left a bit to be desired. It just kind if stopped… Wow Guyver, there is a series I have not seen in a long time. Although The series was recently released on a set of two DVDs.

If you liked Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, you should try and find Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky. The same person directed them. I enjoyed both films.

I will move Cowboy Beebop to the top of the pile and hopefully will have time to sit and watch it in the next day or so. =)

I would also like to suggest Love Hina, Please Teacher, and Hand Maid May. All three are pretty funny.

Cheers!
-Niann

I only have a few of the Guyver vids. Ok, so it’s not that great a series any more… but I might grab a copy of those two dvds at some point… if only for the sentimental value

Yeah, I have no idea why they didnt make Blood into an OVA or something. I mean… the film was so short! They could have made a great series out of it! And the animation and effects are absolutely stunning - still remember watching the opening sequence for the first time… OMG! :beam:

no problemo

Hey, I’ve just noticed this discussion =)

  1. Gunnm
This has to be the best manga I’ve read, ever. The story is incredible, the fights are very nice, and the mix of spirituality, brutality, technology and some other ‘y’ words is just perfect. Glenat is publishing a sequel right now, and it’s looking good!

  2. City Hunter (I was a big fan of the anime)
I was a big fan of Nicky Larson too, but especially because of the voices of the bad guys :stuck_out_tongue: Not too fond of this one.

  3. Evangelion
I don’t understand. Everybody loves this manga, I can’t help finding it boring as hell.

  4. Rurouri Kenshin
I’ve never read that one. There’s a FNAC nearby, I might give it a shot soon.

And you HAVE TO READ Noritaka!! It’s the funniest manga I’ve read so far, hands down. Totally pathetic, completely stupid, but you’ll die laughing…

Cool, I will check this one out then  I’ve heard a lot about it, but I don’t want a manga like those “Storm” comics (which suck if you ask me).

“Aaah oue, lez mechants vont faire bobo… hehehe” lol, yeah, those were funny. I loved the whole stupid humour in City Hunter. And the hammers and all.

Oh no. Another boring robot manga huh? Gundam being the first in the list… :-\

The anime wasn’t bad…

Never read it, but I saw the guy before:
