I have a rather large website built with MX. I want it to load faster initially, and load other parts in as visitors click in the menu.
To speed the initial loading, I took MCs off the stage (though they’re still in the library) and published them separately, then loaded them in dynamically. HOWEVER, my main swf doesn’t seem to be any smaller, even though the MCs that I pulled out claim to be almost 800 Kb a piece…
QUESTION: is there any difference between making separate swf file from MC objects in the same library and making totally separate .fla files and loading them externally?
RELATED: if you have unused MC’s in your library, do they still publish with the swf, to prepare for later “attachmovie” requests…?
