Maya + Swift 3D = Flash SWF?

Dear members and guests,

I’m wondering if any of you nice people can help/direct me to a website or webpage that can help me with this problem. I have an upcoming project to create an online splash page based on Flash MX.

I will need to incorporate a 3D human character flying over the screen, and this character is made by Maya.

Does Swift3D import Maya files? Is there any ups/downs I should watch out when I ‘convert’ the file from Maya to Swift3D swf?

Because of the complexity of the character, I can not retrace it back in Swift3D nor Flash, and I know the movement must be made within the Maya environment. There are some tutorials out there in regards to this matter, but only for 3D Studio Max or Lightwave users.

I’m not a 3D designer, but I’m required to explain what I need from the client/3D vendor. Can anyone advise me on what/where I should do/go?

Thank you in advance

swift 3d also imports .3ds files! (at least v3)

so if u can export to a 3ds file then u can import it to swift3d and export it for flash
