I didn’t want to highjack the other topic, so I’ve started a new one.
Media Temple has been known for hosting well designed sites. I’m currently with them. But they’ve never been keen on latest software (php, mysql, etc) or features. Seriously, they are using php3.x right now. I can’t run vBulletin on a shared server (the server I’m hosted on anyway).
But they are really reliable. Their servers are really fast. I didn’t notice ANY lag at all when I got dugg. Their support is good. I love it for these reasons.
So is there an equivalent hosting company that has really high-standard servers and good support? I don’t care about prices really. I’m paying for (mt) and I’m not complaining. I hope the servers will have relatively recent software updates and the company supports developers/coders (unlike mt, really).
Shared server is good enough for me. Multiple sites hosting is a must (5 or more). I’ve been with textdrive, and really hated their control panel. Besides they don’t let me test custom-made scripts and the basic shared plan only hosts 3 sites (compared to the 6 on (mt)).
