Midi files in Flash

I have discovered that there is no way to import a midi file into flash. I have tried converting it to wav, but no matter how much I compress it, it always ends up about 20 times larger. A 9kb 1 min midi turns into a 20Mb wav. I’ve also tried mp3 but I still get a large file size.

I’ve also thought about using javascript, etc to get the file to play outside of flash, but I have about 10 music files for different parts of my movie, and I can’t have the user waiting for each one to download…

Is there any solution to my problem? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If there is no way to use a midi, is there any way to use a wav file that won’t take an hour to download?

He’s telling you its impossible, if not… try recreating the song like a midi using small wav samples in flash
