Go see it.
The effects were incredible. From the previews, I thought they looked kind of cartoony, but actually seeing it, they were really amazing. Considering almost everything you see in the movie is CG, I can’t believe how real it seemed. The attention to detail on all of the different plants and crazy creatures was insane. The way they brought the world to life was really impressive. I was worried the 3D would be gimmicky and distracting, but it wasn’t at all - it was done really well. We don’t have an IMAX here, which sucks, but if you do have one where you live, definitely see it there.
I’m sure not everyone will like the story, but I’m a sucker for that kind of thing so I really enjoyed it. It has its cheesy moments, but never enough to detract too much from the awesomeness of it overall.
