Hey, I’m just wondering if you guys have any info on how I can fix this button. Its a simple text button that links to a file on my server. That file is a movie which I need to prompt to download when clicked on. The problem is that on some viewers computer it prompts them to download and on others IE trys to play the movie in the windows mediaplayer browser thingy. There is no code other then geturl attatched to the link; which is the actual file. Am I going about the wrong way or is there a better way to do this.
Click on projects then the cheyenne movie link to see what I mean.

Its just the IE user in question has the media player plug-in for IE to allow it to stream .avi files, so instead of downloading it streams the .avi instead.
Perhaps zip it up or convert to a format that isnt readily available for streaming, you may also be able to force the person to download it but not sure if you can within flash.
The movie file is quick time format which sadly is about 40megs. Im not very happy with the file size, its about a 3 minute file with medium resolution. Im curious if you suggest anything to help cut my file size down. The majority of the time the media player in the brower times out on trying to connect to the file. If only I could compress the file down more. I have AE which I have messed around with a bit,but cant figure out how to get those realy low file sizes.
