I did see some flash movies, where the action was made by using the mouse…
Dragging the mouse to the right played movie forward
Dragging the mouse to the left played movie backwards
The speed of the mouse movement was also speed of movie playing…
How is that effect done??

Actually, i was on Flash when i think i figured out an answer to your question. The movie is on the timeline. An invisible button is placed on top of it which operates much like button, kinda like [on rollover, goto frame ‘x’]. But i believe such an effect can only be accomplished with some real action script (I only know the basics) But my guess is that the script enables speed of the movie to be determined by the cursor (Obviously) You should check out the “infinite menu” on this site. It should give you an idea.
