Music - The Blessing and Bane of my existence

The title says it all…I simply enjoy music too much. I love it so much, I’d rather spend all my money on new cds rather than save for important stuff…like saving for a car and insurance (Sidenote:I turn 18 on the 19th of August, like anyone cares at all).

Anyway, to the heart of the thread I go! Does anyone listen to music while they’re working on a project at all? Be it Flash, 3ds, Cinema 4d, whatever, and what genre is it?

Personally, I have a habit of listening to some Aphex Twin (Ambient-Techno-Awesomeness) to get my “creative juices” flowing. Theres just something about it that makes me think of some really awesome ideas. Anyone else like this?

I usually have ‘secret agent’ bumping while I work. (www.somafm.com then click the secret agent stream) its downtempo, lounge, trip-hop, experimental, house, DnB, etc etc…with random Clips from James Bond movies thrown in for good measure.

When I’m designing I usually get so focused in what I’m doing that I forget that CD’s have ended so I sit there in silence for god knows how long. Thats another reason I love Secret Agent, no CD’s to change!

I’m usually listening to ambient techno / dance when designing - heck even rock - well everything (ask lostinbeta about my playlist rofl) but mainly ambient/techno gets my mind going.

songs like

Moby - “My Weakness”
- “Everloving”
- “Guitar, Flute, and String”

Oribital - “Halcyon+on+on”

I too love to listen to music while I work

right now: Subseven - “Emotion”

(great band!)

Now Playing: Aphex Twin “Aegispolis”

The bass in this song is insane. My friend and I turned up his subwoofer all the way and played this song on full volume and full bass, threw some Cheetos on the floor, and had fun for 15 minutes. Then the cops came and told us to turn it down… :frowning:

I usually listen to Enigma (techno/new-age?)/Classical while working

I tried Aphex Twin once when it was the hype here… didn’t care for it really… or maybe I just had a twisted remix or something… I usually enjoy techno, trance whatever, but THAT, was bad… (imo, no hitting)

for creativity, I usually just pump up on Digitally Imported…
