Hello all,
First I’ll introduce myself, since it’s my first post on this forum. My real name is Nathan, I’m from The Netherlands and studies Graphic Design and Visualitation and right now I’m doing Communication and Multimedia Design. I’m really into learning new things and I learned a lot on my own, as example the complete Adobe suite included Indesign, I draw a lot in Illustrator and besides that I love to do webdevelopement with PHP, MySQL and CSS, and I love CSS
Besides that I learned Python, C, C++, made my own chat/gameing network that also works with the Blender3D game engine, and last but not least I did also a lot with pixelart.
I’m fairly new to Kirupa and it’s forums, althought I’m visiting Kirupa for years now without ever joining the forums. Right now I catched up flash again since the last time I used flash 5 (5/6 years ago). I never tried actionscript else then stop and goto functions, but right now I have to because of a project I need to work on.
At school we got a project called ‘Cursing in the Church’ which means we have to create an interactive application with as final something that’s completely abstract as what the application is used for.
Right now I got a cool concept but because of the lack in actionscript knowledge I want to ask something about it too see if it’s possible to create it and what I should use.
My concept is creating an interactive drag and drop game with time limit. Durning the drag and drop (rush a like) I want to generate numbers when you click certain objects or when you drop them in certain places. The variable that holds the list of numbers will be used as some kind of mixer. Each number in the list of numbers is attached to a certain piece of audio. As example, 1 is attached to a audio ‘Who’s johnny’, 2 to some animals sound and so on. Now at the end of the game you have a quite huge list of numbers and will be played back as 1 complete mix like: 1267, it plays audio 1 waits until it’s finished playing, then plays audio 2 and so on. The fun about it that it generates every time you play it, an another list of numbers and another mix. The mix itself doesn’t have to sound great, I’ll handle that myself, but the problem is the following.
- how can I make something hold numbers, is there some kind of list function or database?
- how can I make a script wait until a audio has been played and then continue to the next number (audio), so it played a couple of audio files afther each other.
Currently these are my biggest problems I have so far, also I want to use this thread to ask more questions when I encounter some.
I also hope I’m not to anoyed with my questions since I’m a beginner to action script. I made a lot of things without action script and I’m really into learning things. I hope someone wants to help me a little with actionscript questions.:pleased: (btw, cool smileys on this forum)
