Mx Blur Question

Hi, i’m trying to import a blured image from photoshop into flash - i import it as a png and then once in flash change the properties so the compression is Lossless.

Once thats done i convert to a MC put it on the main stage and put some AS on it to make the blured image fade in.

This is were it all goes wrong. My blured image always has a very awful looking ghost around it - in other words it doesn’t blend into the same colored background.

I’m using the exact same background color in Flash as i’m using in Photoshop but as soon as i put actions on the MC it distorts the color.

If i don’t put actions on it it looks fine, which is fare enough but what happens if you wanna animate your blur???

has anyone else experienced this? is there a cunning way around it.

thanks for any help.

OOOOO! Never used a blurred image imported into flash, think i’ll have a go right now, dont wanna miss out on the fun.

By the way, is it png-8 or png-24?

Regards,
Viru.

And how are you fading the mc in?

png24. try it on a background color same as you use in PS and then stick an action on it in MX

see what happens.

either timeline or AS, doesn’t matter

HAHA whoops, i didnt read proper, i made a logo with no background. Just make a logo with a transparent background. Would that not be better?

Viru.

unfortunately not

You need to put a matte colour on your image when you export it. In photoshop, you can do it in the save for web screen (I don’t know how to do it in anything else.)

If you want to blur something, try using a gradient with transparency in flash. This can also be used to create lighting effects in flash.

hold on guys
you can use your logo with a transparent background and export as PNG-24 with transparency. Once imported in flash, you can do everything with your image as it comes tranaparent. I use this technique all the time.

does that help?

Really?!? PNG-24 works?!? THAT WOULD SOLVE A MILLION AND 1 PROBLEMS OF MINE!!!

RUNS OFF TO TRY IT

yes go look at a site i did http://www.maiju.co.uk the images in the intro use PNG24 and the one in the about maiju section.

hope it works for you
