I started working with Flash and ActionScript for the first time in October of this year.
I thought that it would be a good idea that as I am learning then instead of just answering questions on forums and ‘messing around’ with stuff that I would write tutorials to help me and others and I have now written my first tutorial.
I have tried very hard to go for a new approach and I have written it for a beginner. But more than that I have also written it in two sections. The first section explains what we are doing without any reference to Flash or ActionScript. The reason for this is for the reader to gain an understanding rather than just copying the tutorial with cut and paste. The second section is Flash/AS based.
I would be very grateful if you would take a look at it and let me have your comments. Bad comments are very worthwhile as are good ones as I intened to write more. Also comments on my AS coding style would be welcome.
This first tutorial is on the subject of calculating the distance between two points and the second tutorial (in progress) is about calculating angles. I am currently looking at the Math/Physics of AS.
