This is the cover of a comic I just finished, thought I’d show the cover off for fun, maybe get some opinions.

very good, you’ve got talent… but maybe a tad too dark, I wonder what this would look after the press…
and the alien’s head is kind of bizarre… .but I love the velvel texture of his jacket.
Whoa. Very cool. I agree, too dark :).
Very nice. Great work. But as said in previous posts, you should lighten it up or add some thing to show the figure more.
Great work though
Wow its really nice, I like :thumb:
Thanks!
yeah I do plan on trying to lighten it a little more… though i was goin for that night time pokin’ out of the darkness look…

Stop flaunting your Mac-ness :trout:
And I also like the cover, I agree it is a bit too dark, but only slightly… and maybe only the dude on the left. Do you actually print your comics or is it more of an online thing?
they will be fully printed into books. And thanks again guys.
I kinda was tryin’ to make the guy on the left more in the shadows… the main character in the foreground is really who I want you to see. If you had read the last issue (which I know none of you guys have) I think that seeing him like this on the cover should get you pretty excited.
It’s funny because the guy on the left, in order to color him I actually found a picture of a guy who looks allot like him, and I formed the guy’s face (using liquify in photoshop7) to fit under the ink outline, then did some shading and highlights. The detail is hard to see in this picture, but I think it still looks alright. I also used some cracked dirt and elephant skin on the creep lookin guy for texture, and real jeans for the pants.
Thanks for all the good words!

has your comic got a website to go with it ?
the “company” that puts the comic out has failed to even mention the comic on the site yet… but it is www.ourconspiracy.com
possibly one of the worst sites on the net
I have a gallery featuring pages from the first issue on my on-line art gallery. (unfinished, but still has stuff to see) at www.lunaractive.com/eef
www.lunaractive.com is my band’s site which I did the design on both of these sites (art gallery and band).
let me know what you think if you happen to check it out.

I drew each character indiviaually, the guy I actually drew twice because I didnt like him the first time. I drew them in pencil then in ink, using brushes and pens. I scanned them in and used photoshop to color them. I used allot of techniques from this tutorial: http://www.wade.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorial1.htm for the first time. I used this image: http://www.sxc.hu/browse.phtml?f=view&id=87457 and formed it under the outline of the man’s face, and added highlights and shadows. Lots of dodging and burning. I used some of the same techniques on this ninja turtle I drew: http://www.ninjaturtles.com/fanart/ethan_nicolle.jpg
Oh yeah, and the background is from a photograph of san diego or something.
Anyway. Thanks for all the kind words. And I am pretty sure put this on the same template as the last issue’s cover, but I will make sure it’s the right size.
