Ok first let me be completely frank. I just don’t get what is going on with all of this no tutorial I have gone through mentions this stuff but here are the big things. I have already set-up PHP5 and Apache2 (though because I thought they might be screwing stuff up I removed them from the system, but will be re-installing them once I get MySQL up and running).

[]How come I can never connect to the database from localhost [see screenshot2]. Just to let you know it gives my ERROR 1044: BLAH BLAH cannot connect from ‘@localhost’ to ‘mysql’
[]Secondly, do I need MyODBC drivers to get to connect to the database locally because when I start up MySQL AB I have an error MSG on that home screen.
