Neat Flash Animation/Application CHAT thing

I received a cool animation from one of my friends in the e-mail: bert.ultralab.net/iso/ It is really cool and reminds me of the dubit.co.uk or habbohotel days.

Cheers,
Kirupa

Thats so cool! I assume it doesnt support multiplle users though?

Hey pez,
I think it does support multiple users. I have not seen it yet, but I will ask a few of my friends on AIM to get on and test it out.

Cheers!
Kirupa

It works, it supports multiple users… I just got about 4 of us in there…

I assume it was created in shockwave rather than in flash… anyone mind telling me how the hell I would go about making something like that!?

Hey pez,
The animation is created entirely in Flash. I have no idea how it works, but I am sure it took a lot of time and programming skills

Cheers,
Kirupa

Do you know of any Flash chat applets like that one that can be used or are being leased or sold for reasonable prices?

hmm, I have no clue. I have no idea how much one would be willing to sell this chat thing for. From the amount of work, probably an arm and a leg. I’m sure you have plenty of arms and legs to spare phil

Cheers!

Kirupa-
Reasonable! Reasonable is not in the ballpark of an arm or a leg. NEXT!

Doh!

WOW! I mean… WOW!!!

How the hell!!! I bet it has something to do with MX!

This is like… Amazing!!! But… Where is the site?

It is stupidly good, I still dont know how it’d be done in flash, I have a good idea how its done in shockwave because that runs a server style applet so that more users can be added too it. I’m sure its not possible in flash! Its just too confusing for my head!

I’m sorry… I can’t get this to connect… what is it that’s going on?

Theres a little isometric plane, with trees and rocks, and you have a little man who you can walk around the screen, and you can chat on it. Other people can also join into the same area (which is what I dont understand can be done in flash).

XML socket I would suppose. That’s a very easy way of hooking different comps together for a chat system.

I did get it to load finaly here at home. Have a feeling the work firewalls were screwing things up.

For a more advanced version of this, everyone please visit: www.dubit.co.uk That is the ultimate in Flash based movement/interaction/chatting!

Now that’s very cool. Could make an excellent role playing game.
