Need Assistance in Getting a 100% Width Footer to Work

[FONT=Trebuchet MS]Hey Y’all,

It’s been a while since I’ve visited Kirupa, but … I’m in a pickle. Here’s a site I’m working on (no judgement, as it’s in very early stages):

http://mark-stuckert.net/temp/

Anywho, that was what I built from this mock:

In the mock, the footer spreads all the way across, which I thought would simply be 100% in the CSS. Here’s a link to my CSS:

A friend of mine said you have to use negative margins and/or padding, which works fine in Firefox, but in IE if you do that you get that ugly horizontal scrollbar … so, if anyone knows of any other method of creating a footer that would span the entirety of the page (like, maybe, iframes?), please let me know.

Thanks, and you guys rule.
Mark (decisionman).
