Yesterday, seemingly out of nowhere, I try to open up Illustrator and it freezes when I try to open a document or start a new one.
I had this problem when I first installed it, and to fix it I had to wipe my hard drive clean. I don’t think I should have to do that again.
So, When I do a selective startup, and disable all services and all startup items, my programs work correctly. When I enable all startup items and disable all services, my programs work. But When I enable all services, it freezes again.
I know something in my services is causing this problem. My question is: What’s the best way to figure out whats causing this problem? Do I have to go through them one by one? Cause there’s about 80 services.
Any other suggestions or comments are welcome. I need to figure this out asap. My specs: Pentium 4 ht 3.0 ghz, 1 gig of ram, XP Pro sp 2, 256 mb ati 9600 xt, Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium (education version, legal)
