Ok, maybe someone else can figure this out. Because I must be doing something wrong. It should be simple, but I can’t seem to get it to work. Here is the problem. My friend finally got into flash designing after persistent pesturizing by me. 
He made a few ok movies and decided to make a game or soemthing. Anyways, he came to me with this MX file asking for help and for some reason I couldn’t get it to work either. He has a MC, and when it opens it is supposed to check the variable (gotSword in this case) to see if it is true or not. If it is not true, then the MC goes to frame 1. And if it is true, it goes to frame 2. Only thing is it never seems to work no matter what I try. I have done stuff like this in the past, but for soem reason its not working. The most I could get it to do was read the variable, then it would ALWAYS go to the &% second frame. No matter the outcome of the variable. So since I have my own flash RPG I have been working on like a madman, I thought I would post the Fla. here to see if anyone else wants to give it a whack for him. This is his original version.
