My employer is pretty specific on the website that they are having me build for them. They want a top menu and a bottom menu, you can view it here www.swdirect.com/flash2.html for now. None of these buttons are working yet because I"m extremely new to flash and AS3 is horribly difficult, I’ve been thinking of canning it and doing it in AS2 instead. Essentially, when the top left button is clicked, the top right button should disappear and a whole new bottom menu should appear (relative to the top left button) and it should also work the same if the user clicked the top right button instead.
Here’s my dilemma, I will not be designing the whole site in flash for SEO purposes, however, since I am so new to flash, I’m wondering how I’m going to attain this without using a full flash site. I have it set up now as a top/bottom flash menus with a frame in the center for html content.
How do I link several flash menus together with html and have it be seamless? AS3 is extremely difficult to learn and it seems like using AS2 would be wiser for me because the commands are more simple.
Do you know if this is something that’s even possible to do? Do you know where I can go to find the necessary steps? If you look at this site www.biomedichair.com they have a flash menu (AS2) with all the html contained and it works great…but they don’t have a lower flash menu and my employer wants the whole page to be filled…however, I’ve looked through their coding on their header and I just can’t find where their “getURL” functions are…I know they’re in some of the buttons, but when I break it down, I can’t find them and I was hoping to use that menu as a reference point.
Can someone please provide me with a place to go for reference…keeping in mind…I am only a beginner and am still reading the books…is AS2 better for me to use? Is this possible?
Help!
Thank you
