New computers at work

At work we’re about to buy some new computers.
We need to run Creative Suite 2, Dreamweaver Flash and Fireworks.

What system components would we need to have almost no waiting times for loading etc…? We do NOT like waiting for programs to load etc… :puzzled:

Thanks! Robin…

im not talking about dinky pcs

Dual core G5’s? that would be my guess…

At work I turn the machine on…got get water, come back…open Dreamweaver, Photoshop CS2, Quark, Word, Entourage, Safari, Flash 8 and Ichat all at once…click, click, click, click…I go get more water, come back and they are all open…

I work on a quad G5 with 3gb of ram…

Pretty fast if you ask me…but yeah, I want to see the next generation…

lol, but thats what the guy is asking for… those programs dont take a whole lot to run… so you have to look at what smaller things can be changed to make them just start faster/load faster and hard drives where its at… then some ram.

Since nobody is giving you any real solutions, here’s my :2c:

If you’re deciding to stick with your harddrives, it’ll be the bottleneck. You can upgrade your CPU, however, I doubt that’ll change much due to other bottlenecks; or you can get faster RAM. More is not always better in your case, anything at/over 1GB should be sufficient for any program to load.

Question is: is it water from a cooler 5m away, or extracted from a naturally distilled mountain reservoir and chilled for 3 hours?

ya3… nice one dude… lol. My system sucks wii wii… (just read Nintendo article). So the hard drive’s speed changes the computer speed a lot?

If your just running Adobe and Macromedia products than Apple will suit you.

It effects load times, since everytime your computer loads something it has to access it from the harddrive obviously having a faster harddrive will decrease load times. As it was said before I suggest investing in a 10,000RPM drive or a raptor.
