It’s the colours that are doing it. I can see what I want in my mind, but when I put it on the computer it looks washed out. Argh.
I might have to re-colour this when I’m done. Thank God it’s such a long deadline. 
I hope I can manage to finish this on time, I know it´s a long deadline, but, for now, I can only do this at work.
And I got to say it is a big pain to make all little details that a castle should have

How do we know when someone is cheating? other than the use of filters, text, and images?

Ah, you misunderstand…
When I say cheating, I mean that I’m not drawing a whole castle. Mine is literally in ruins. That way I don’t have to draw lots of fiddly bits.

Hehe - the key word in “castle ruins” is ‘castle’. And no-one ever said I <i>couldn’t</i> do a ruined one, so that’s a nifty little loophole. :beam:

I´d say that I´m doing mine in 90% pixel-by-pixel, the other 10% is fill and some layering stuff.

Mine uses the occasional fill to do large areas, but otherwise it’s pixel by painstaking pixel.
And it’s coming along. I’m turning it from being slightly grey to something a bit more vibrant, so we’ll have to see. I dunno… Kitiara’s Psychedelic Castle of Funkiness, maybe…
