I’m growing a bigger star wars fan everyday!
Watched the movies but not that many times enough to know the quotes by heart (like 1-3 times each, only) but I have read many, many novels, and I keep buying more.
It’s what I read while on the city bus. Up to now I think I have read Timothy Zahn’s series which starts at heir to the empire, and right now I’m reading survivor’s quest.

I’ve read the one with Kip Durron and the sun crusher(what a nice vessel!) and with a female admiral who hides in the nebula, Lando Calrissian’s 3 adventures, and some adventure with luke and a female alien who follows “the circle” and in which he tries to seek his mother or something. Quite fun, but my “fan-ness” is not really PC-oriented.
With a GeForce ti 4200 and a 1.56ghz P4 and 256mb DDRAM, I can’t run a game like Knights of the Old Republic, which for the little part I’ve played while enduring some MAJOR SLOW DOWNS I’ve enjoyed (but it took tooooo much HD space). Oh, and Jedi Knights 2: Jedi Outcast is really fun, even single player 
Even if I have a job, I don’t intend to play star wars galaxies (nor any mmorpg with pay-per-month).

Yeah, you haven’t tried Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy have you? Because thats the sequel to Outcast
They added saber staff and dual sabers, which are both considered noobsticks

and the Timothy Zahn book Angelmass is great too…its pretty new
expensive, but i got it a store in New Hampshire for 6 bucks instead of 30. hehe
oh, and for the last battlein academy, tavion is a joke
i used Force Speed, ran at her, hit Crouch, rolled, hit Primary Attack, stabed her in the stomach, and she died. Just like that
And update on my helping the star wars book industry: just got myself the book on vehicles and aircrafts…After having watched the (discontinued) Episode 2 DVD, I realized how much every ship is backed by a nice chunk’a story even if you only see it during a few seconds during the battle scene! Ah, [U]I love mechas[/U]! We should create a mecha fanclub or something!
Actually I just got Jedi Academy for my birthday (get this: my birthday was back in MARCH!!!) and completed it on jedi difficulty while playing a human male (“Jaden”) and choosing not to kill Rosh when presented the opportunity.
I fought Tavion. I couldn’t do that roll piercing strike NEVER EVER! Had to do it the coward way: fight a bit, get down to 26/10/2 hp, run, heal, wait for “mana”, absorb+protection+speed, rinse and repeat (and she kept reminding me how coward it was 
Nice touch, game developers!)
They say the game’s exactly the same if you slice Rosh, only that you get to fight not only the cult but ALSO the jedi students from the school…Hah!
Oh come ON its not that hard to the the roll thing… wel… you use the WASD controls right, just keep holding attack after you roll

but, once you kill rosh, the game is practically over…just one more level (Korriban), and thats it…you do fight the academy students, and Kyle too (he’s really annoying)
anyone know how to do that level with the nasty Rancor-type thing? the one where its bigger than your house and eats every bad guy?

yeah after that thing created the first door to the next huge room, i went through there, but in my atttempts to avoid him, ran into about 4 dark jedi, whom killed me. quickly too. so, i thought, screw it. its the only mission i skipped
oh and anyone whose having trouble later in the game w/ the dark Jedi wearing Green (the ones who don’t attack you with their lightsabers), use lightning on them, and they’ll die in about a second. then finish off the other Jedi

Actually I find absorb is quite TEH THANG. I use it whenever I fight dark jedi, so they don’t push you off catwalks, they don’t zap you, they don’t grip you…well, you get the idea. It’s well worth the 30 or so force points in the beginning of a 2 vs 1…
There were some parts I had a lot of trouble with, either by sheer difficulty or by a lack of patience (which the force is supposed to provide you with…cough).
That mining station level, I had a really really hard time getting back on the roof to drop one of the beacons. I don’t even remember how I did it. It took me more than 30 minutes running around the level again and again just to find the friggin’ way to get up there. And, the last level where you get sandy dunes and stuff, after the part where you push a pillar to cross a gap, I jumped down the hole but DID NOT notice the tunnel you have to crouch through. So I quickloaded and lost like 40 minutes running around trying to jump everywhere (including some funny slow mo longjumps to death). Looked up a walkthrough (yeah, you’re not supposed to do that in singleplayer games :P) and found out you HAD to jump down the hole and that there WAS a tunnel. Heh!
Oh, and that sand worm level. Ungh!! Quickload and quicksave are your friends!
I found fighting Rosh pretty annoying. Just took too much time for my liking.
Also, quite strangely, once you fight with your jedi friends in a temple(just before the sand pit area), and you reach a doorway with one single super-dark-ultimate jedi (just an npc but really hard to beat…harder than that red twi’lek and tavion) which i had to quickload three times to get through. Guess what, the fourth time, it’s one of the students who simply went in and quicksliced him to death. Hah! Full save. =) Tavion was just long to beat, as I said, beating her the coward way.
Oh and graphicslash, I know how to do the roll thing, I just didn’t manage to do it ON HER. Nor on that red twi’lek girl. She did cartwheels and performed cool idle animations. She taunted me. Definately my favourite bad guy/gal =D Why is it that the best villains in this game are female anyways Oh and Boba Fett was quite a lad to “kill” (of course, no game is gonna let you kill Boba Fett or Luke!)…I didn’t know of how force push could repel back rockets at the time, so I had to be quick and dodgy to avoid his attacks. He was fun though
All in all I really enjoyed this game except for little pieces of searching which stall the action. Memories are a-plenty
I had those same types of problems in JO Singleplayer

Can I join the Star Wars Alliance even though I have yet to play Jedi Academy. I have played (and beat) Dark Forces, and Jedi Outcast. And I’v probably logged in more hours playing the original X-Wing than I have sleeping and eating.
Back in the day Star Wars trivia was my forte, no expanded universe or anything, just the original trilogy. C’mon someone challenge me with a StarWars trivia question.
