I had lots off help forum ppl here so i think it’s best to lay this problem infront of you guys to…
okay here goes:
i have a movie clip (buttonbar) that slides horizon… this movieclip movie with action script… the goal is to schield a smal part of this movieclip so it looks like it goes onder a part of the menu… see image)… only thing is, a mask does’nt work couse i gees the action puts it ontop of everything els and a .gif image as overlay does’nt eighter
If you want the white shape to go over the infinite menu, try to put it into a layer over the mask of the menu layer. The mask will only mask what is below it - from what I have learned…
Use the mask in the masking layer to cover what you want to show - not what you want to hide. I’ve always had a problem with masks because it’s opposite. You mask everything that you don’t want to show on the layers below by putting a shape over the stuff that you do want to show. After that masking layer, your just adding stuff on top.
That’s the way I try to understand masks…sorry if I made it worse. It’s tuff.(-:
