i was wonderig how this is done… but iunno how to describe it… so heres the site that is similar to that effect… www.puma.com
like how the nav bar is on top of an image…
im using dream weaver… and i set a color as my background… so i cant have an image as my background as well… (or can i)… and then i want to have link buttons on the image… but dreamweaver recommends that you dun overlap images… (iunno why)… or is it all just done on flash???
and also nothin gets imported with a transparent background… is there anything that i am doing wrong… or a way around this?
thanks

It is not flash.

In theory it is generally not good to use layers on top of each other. Why well I am glad you asked. It does not work in netscape. View the site in NS.

But if you want to proceed basically you can either do show hide layers…eh well that is the only way I can think to do it. Then trigger your animated gif in the layer you are showing. That is basically what they are doing. do a view soutce and you will see the divs.
This is risky if you want a wide range of browser acceptance.
Oh yeah while using DW it will not let you over lap layers unless you turn it off…go to Modify>>>arrange and un check prevent overlaps. Also pay attention to your z-indexes.
