ok i m using ad aware for the first time and i got 53 files that it found. i dont know which ones i should delete and which ones arent ads. i made the list of files on the web

lol Seriously bro… The registry ones are those pesky pop ups you get every so often… They write registry keys so that they can track you… it’s a *****.
Not joking (see attached image). Anyway, I downloaded spybot and it caught manything ad-aware missed.
Where do you guys get all these adwares/spywares? I never get any popups or anything :h:
After seeing this thread I thought I should try scanning my computer with one of these programs. I downloaded Spybot and there’s roughly 46 problems. Like seattle I’m a bit unsure if I should delete some things. Some of the problems that came up are Windows Media Player : Client ID and then something about a registry change. I know messing with the registry is a big no no so please advise me!

not really. i dont get ads but i wanted this prog so i could download real player
people get ad tags when they download crap freeware software from those mass download sites… plus people that use file transfer programs e.g Kazaa so much crap comes tagged to these type of programs… to solve this
1.)dont download crap cheapo software…
2.)find ‘lite’ versions of file transfer programs …
3.)and get yourself a good firewall
4.)stop lookin at ‘dodgy sites’ you :p:'s
1.) get kazaa lite k++
2.) Ad Aware still detects 1 spyware thing, but kazaa lite assures us that it has been rendered hamless, yet since kazaa lite is based off of kazaa it still needs the file to be there (although this version is harmless) delete all of them except the one in the kazaa lite file
