Pausing a module at all levels... how?

hi friends

i come with another question that i hope someone can help answer.

first, a basic rundown of what ive got going on:

we have animations nested within a very robust interface mainframe which has pause functions…

the problem is, that when we press the pause button, it only pauses the animation’s MAIN TIMELINE, so- if there is any animations/audio embedded within movieclips, these certain animations will not pause… they keep playing (because pause only pauses the main timeline of the animation)

i am wondering is anyone has a solution for this, and well, quite frankly, i am open to ideas too.
