PEAR ActionScript, your opinion needed

Hi, hope I picked the right forum to post in.

Some explanation first:
There’s a PEAR PHP project, it’s main goal is to provide some standardization for PHP coding. I.e. to give developers solution for common problems which would look the same way, behave the same way, will be reliable and hopefully supported in a long run.
There ware certain attempts to do something similar for ActionScript, but they are not yet there. Technically, there’s as3corelib and a bunch of really variable quality projects on the Google-labs, also there are few frameworks like PureMVC that may have taken advantage of this idea… but, no one has actually did it…
So, the idea is to organize the project that would try to achieve the same goals as PEAR, i.e. to provide a set of AS libraries that are not bound to some specific framework, however implement the same logic, use consistent code style, have similar API and documented in the same way.
I’m not yet asking anyone to volunteer, or to submit his code =) Just testing the grounds =)
So, I need your opinion. Do you feel like there should be such a project? Or do you think that the idea is a waste effort which no one will use after all?
This is a poll, so you may just answer YES or NO, meaning YES - you’d like to see the project of this kind, NO - it’s useless. But, if you have anything to add, I’m really looking forward to hear whatever you have to say =)
