Phantom Phantom jet pilots

On a miserable wet afternoon here in Brentwood I thought I would take a break from my Flash studies & trawl the net.

I was interested in the sites (literal) of crashed WW2 aircraft here in Essex which was an area of intense ariel action during the war.

I came across this site that lists “Phantom Aviators” of the time. Even if you don’t bother going to the site check out this story:

Black Cat
Location: Poynton Green (Shropshire) - Field in the village
Type:
Date / Time: 22 October, every ten years (next in 2011) (reoccurring)
Further Comments: Two Czech pilots died here on 22 October 1941, crashing in the field as they ran out of fuel. A local farmer rushed to the field in an attempt to save them, but was beaten back by the flames. He did, however, see a black cat emerge from the burning wreckage. The creature made its home with a local old woman, and when she died, the cat vanished, but appears once very ten years at the crash site.”

“Anyone any good Ghost stories?”

Hmmmm. Just giving this story more thought than I probably should - How come the farmer was beaten back by flames when there was no fuel onboard?

Coz it was a phantom jet, duh :sure:

Coz it was a phantom jet, duh

The engines could have been on fire
