What he doesn’t seem to understand is that if theres a tutorial for 7, PSCS can handle that because 7 is obviously the older version.

BTW - This is a dumb question. But is there a choice in CS to save the .psd as a lower version format?
No, there isn’t a legacy psd save… saving in PSCS will open in earlier versions, but if you do things like put layerset inside a layerset they will open up as individual layers.
