I have an image of a wall base that is a jpg. I need to make a png of the wall base but I only need the shadows of the wall base profile. The wall and floor can remain as they are. I am working on a room visualizer and the user will be able to select from hundereds of color swatches and be able to change the color of the wall base. In my flash application I have a color layer and I want to overlay the wall base image so the color layer shows through the transparent areas but still show the shadows. I thought about making different images for this effect but there are literally hundreds of colors, so it’s not practical and secondly the color swatches are XML driven and can be updated by the client. How can I remove the white color in the wall base and still keep my shadows all the while being transparent?
