Photoshop help

First want to say Hi and this is my first post here. Hopefully not my last

Anyways…

Was wondering on the best way to export transparent gif’s? is there a trick? mine keeps getting distorted around the edges even tho I set the output to max res…hmmm…suggestions…

thx.

It’s not really possible to export perfect transparent gif’s. They pixelate the edges to achieve the transparent effect.

Depending on your particular use for them, consider PNG or TIFF.

.GIFs don’t have an alpha channel. Well, they do, but there aren’t varying degrees of alpha it’s either transparent or it’s not. It’s alright for pixel art and if you need it to work in IE, but for other uses, use .PNG

transparent gifs with edges are a nuisance

I put the background of the webpage into the psd file and then export the non transparent image into gif. this seems like it is transparent … works if you know the background …
