I wonder if anyone can tell me the default pixel resolution of photoshop 6.
Or if there isnt one the best resolution to use for printing so it doesnt resize badly.

Cheers i have messed with the res a bit but it hasnt solved my problem.
basically im designing some flyers and letterheads for some people and its fine on my PC but is oddly resizing when they print it.
Im saving to Jpeg as the work is fairly ‘imagey’ (if thats not a word it should be lol)
the file dimensions are that of A4 (21cmx29.7cm) in photoshop
But it seems to lose about 10% of its size when you print it ?? any ideas why ?
what res is your final document that you are printing and what application are you using to print?
i will help you out when you reply
cheers

get the specs from your printer. As they vary from printer to printer. But tiff is the way to go…My printer asks for the .ai then they do their own compression,
will look into it bit more cheers guys.
Im using jpeg as the image is only doable in that really and i am using photoshop6.
I believe ps6 can save out as a tiff.
it can , but it looks absolutely terrible even on highest settings.
or am i missing something ?
you must be missing something, tiffs should be spot on. again it depends on what resolution you are using and what printer you are printing on.
also make sure the zoom is 100%…I caught myself doing something on 80% and everything looked terrible
same here
i bet that is it…not zoomed to 100%…Tiff is always good
