Playing a certain portion of my flash animation

I have a flash animation that starts with the animation and ends with a sort of image map where I have 9 buttons to represent the 9 planets of the solar system. Each time a user clicks on one it will take them to a Try Again page or if they guess the correct link it will open up a new window. What I want to know is how to load the animation to begin with but when the user presses the Back button if they guess the wrong link how to make the image map stay up and not reload the movie over again each time they incorrectly guess a link. (This is part of a game on my site in case no one knew…;))

okay, I think I can sort of grasp what your saying.Well lets say your animation streches over 50 frames and on frame 51 you have your 9 buttons, got me?Well then on the correct button (the one that openss a new page make that go to the new page using getUrl and then on the incorrect buttons let it lead to frame 52.with a stop action, then put a back button on page 52 which leads to frame 51.now test it.

If you have any problems just send it here.

Ok, I want to add a preloader to this animation but it doesn’t seem to work when I go to this page http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/percentagepreloader.htm and add it to my animation. I know this tutorial is for Flash MX but it should work in Flash 5 as well. What am I doing wrong? :q:

dont use that tutorial, use the one here or [URL=http://www.flashcircle.com/display.php?storyid=9]here
:egg:

There’s actually nothing wrong with the preloader at Kirupa.com… it’s just too much for what you need, and too complex for you to sort through at this time. DMX is right… those two links should help you out. Just wanted to state that the kirupa preloader tut does work correctly.
