Hello! I am revising my portfolio website that I never put up on the web yet. It was all done in flash but I am revising it with more actionscripting (loading external text files in & buttons)
Anyways, I have 5 pages with 5 different backgrounds on the original version. I need to keep these 5 images in the revised site but Im stumped. I did the NEW buttons by creating a simple wireframe it’s a movie clip and labled the 5 instance names as button_1, button_2, button_3, button_4, and button_5. I have ext_vars file in the same folder as my flash file and have the actionscripting applied in the actions layer. So the buttons do work as far as the names showing up in the swf file.
My problem is I don’t know how to set up my second, third etc… pages up so that I can load in the 4 other background images. I don’t know if there is some way with actionscripting that I can load in the other images, or if I create the other pages in seperate scenes. My original virsion is on seperate scenes with just a simple on release action on the buttons. I tried applying this to the new buttons but nothing happens. But since my new buttons are external I don’t know what to do and it’s driving me nuts!!!
Please someone help me out here!! I need to get this site up and going ASAP and this is the only thing so far that’s holding me up. If you could tell me which way to load in the background images through the buttons by actions or if I need to create seperate scenes I don’t know what actionscripting to use. Thank you and I appreciate your help.
