I thought I understood Pagerank after optimising countless sites.
But the recent update has me confused.
I optimised a new site with all the old, non black-hat, tricks and techniques and only a PR of 1 was conferred upon it.
For some reason though, my old tired portfolio site, done in flash, not optimised at all, with no meta to speak of, static never changing, and boring, magically went from 0 to a PR of 5.
I checked the linkback on both, and the PR1 site has links from sites with a higher PR compared to the my portfolio site.
What’s the deal?
