When I import a transparent png document
in Flash and I look at my movie on a Macintosh
the transparent part of the png document appears
in the swf movie (some PC’s do this too).
For example…
The content of my transparent png document is a circle.
I import the square png document (50px X 50px) in Flash.
When I look the swf on a Mac and some
PC’s, I can see the square of the png
document around the circle.
check your screen resolution settings, probably you have your screen in 16 bit color set it to 32 bits thats probabbly your problem, what program are you using to export the png? and did you check the settings of the imported png in flash hit ctrl+L and check the properties tab on the png image make sure you choose lossless gif/png, it wouldnt hurt to check out the publishing settings in flash also check what quality its using for the jpgs
Hey Neuhaus3000, I’m not sure if this will work or not, but try using trace bitmap on your image so that it will get rid of the square and leave just the circle behind.
While you’re in flash, click on the graphic to select it, then go to modify > trace bitmap and set color threshold to 1, minimun area to 1 as well, set curve fit to “pixels” and set corner threshold to “normal”.
After you’ve done that, your image shouldn’t have the box around it anymore, but only the circle behind. Try that and see if it works, good luck. =)
just incase make sure when youre exporting the image from fireworks you choose a transparent background if you keep having trouble just post your image file so we can see what your doing wrong
I was having this problem until someone told me to make sure I chose interlaced when saving as a png from photoshop. I don’t have the problem now that I do that.
